Village of Sugar Grove Public Works

Chicago, IL

Previous to the establishment of Blue Yonder, Inc. members of our leadership managed the construction of this $120 million high rise project in downtown Chicago. This project required precision scheduling of materials and labor, coordination with civic officials and constant monitoring of job and time costing until its completion in 1993. At the time of construction, this building was the tallest concrete structure in the United States.Back to top

Our team has experience with large projects, such as this building that would eventually serve many uses, including retail, office space, residential and housing a hotel. A key member of our leadership was the project manager who oversaw this project’s many complicated facets. A key challenge in construction was accounting for the compression of steel on the lower third of the building – as the floors above it were concrete structures. Our team was able to mitigate the problems with the engineering as well as coordinate all the other trades to save time and resources over the course of the project. The project spanned from 1985 – 1989, and was valued at over $220 million. Back to top

Before joining Blue Yonder, Inc. our leadership was responsible for the construction of a $78 million 53 story high-rise. Members of our team were brought in as the project management to bring this project back on schedule, after it had fallen weeks behind. By implementing new construction means and methods, this multi-use building was finished exactly on schedule and meeting all budgetary requirements.Back to top
