In November of 2012, Blue Yonder Inc began a yearlong renovation project at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL.  This new $2.2M project is an interior renovation project to fully upgrade approximately 8,000 square feet on the seventh floor of the Damen Pavilion, Building 1. This project will create a new infrastructure for the technology system serving the entire building as well as establishing a fully updated and climate controlled space for the technology equipment.

Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL, cut the ribbon for the 2 new Green Homes.  Each home houses 10 veterans, and each veteran is able to live his life as he or she would like with their own room and bathroom, and the ability to enjoy activities and meals on their own time.  Blue Yonder is very proud to be the SDVOSB construction firm who built these homes.  The highlight of the morning was being able to hear former NASA Astronaut and retired Navy Captain James A. Lovell share a few words of wisdom.  We look forward to participating in the next phase and being able to create opportunities for veterans to have a safe and comfortable living space to call their own.

Lovell FHCC in North Chicago, Il.  The $7.389M interior and exterior renovation project will bring top of the line training capabilities to the personnel stationed at the FHCC, and will prepare the medical corps going all over the world to provide their fellow servicemen and women with potentially life-saving healthcare. This training will include multiple simulation rooms with the latest in technology and will allow the trainers to customize scenarios to mirror anywhere in the world.  The renovation project will also bring many new upgrades for the veterans, such as a new theater, virtual recreation area and coffee lounge.   Ground Breaking Pictures

On November 16, 2010 Blue Yonder Inc. joined the ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of this 26,000 square foot renovation. The 4th floor nursing unit is designed to service patients that may need to have an extended stay while receiving care. Building 133 now has larger individual patient rooms and can ensure greater privacy for each client during their treatment. The rooms boast a private bath, state of the art patient lift systems, a 32″ LCD televisions, but most importantly, the ability to accommodate visiting family and guests. The Blue Yonder team kept the needs of the Veterans Administration first, and to follow the plans established during pre-construction to deliver an exceptional product that would serve our nation’s veterans for years to come.
